Seeya Fashion Week Takes India Global — Designers Snigdha Majumder and Kiran Tuteja Shine at New York Fashion Week 2025
After a spectacular and widely acclaimed 2024 edition, Seeya Fashion Week (SFW) took a remarkable leap onto the global stage. On September 14, 2025, at 1604 Broadway, New York, SFW proudly represented India at New York Fashion Week, as two of its star designers — Snigdha Majumder of Blue Wardrobe and Kiran Tuteja of Tarashe by Kiran — showcased their collections before an international audience.
Founded and curated by Seema Vashishth, Seeya Fashion Week was built on a powerful vision — to promote, mentor, and elevate budding Indian designers, giving them a global platform to share their creativity and craftsmanship. Seema’s mission has always been clear: to turn Seeya Fashion Week into a launchpad for authentic Indian voices in fashion, blending art, sustainability, and storytelling into one cohesive movement.
The October 2024 edition of SFW was celebrated for its inclusivity, innovation, and artistic depth, drawing major attention to its commitment to sustainable design and cultural preservation. Taking that spirit international, Seema’s initiative at NYFW marked a defining milestone for the platform and for Indian fashion itself.
Representing SFW, Snigdha Majumder unveiled her stunning collection under her label Blue Wardrobe — titled “Threads of Infinity.” The line reimagined India’s timeless Banarasi weave into global silhouettes, featuring five fusion dresses and five sarees crafted from Banarasi or Banarasi-inspired textiles. Her New York-based models brought the pieces to life, showcasing the perfect blend of traditional artistry and modern elegance.
Complementing this was Kiran Tuteja, founder of Tarashe by Kiran, whose collection drew inspiration from the ancient Madhubani art of Bihar. Through her designs, Kiran celebrated womanhood as a journey — past, present, and becoming — with garments that reflected emotion, resilience, and authenticity. Her creations stood as wearable stories, merging Indian heritage with contemporary global appeal.
For Seeya Fashion Week, this international showcase was not just about fashion — it was about fulfilling a vision. It represented the coming together of passion, purpose, and opportunity — proving that with the right platform, Indian designers can truly shine on the world’s most prestigious runways.
